I am an ancient relic
I was dug up from the earthy graves
I was weathered and eroded by the winds, the sands, and the seas
Then cleansed in the freshwater rivers
Restored by the gentle hands of a kindred spirit
Their kind hearted love revives me
A rebirth in this millennium

I am an ancient relic
Is there place for me in this new era?
A quiet call for connection lost amidst the cacophony of noise.
I feel nothing. I see nothing. I hear nothing.
It seems I am without recognition, forgot and lost.
Kindred spirit please guide me.

I am an ancient relic.
My friend.
Can you hear me call?
My sound seems quiet as a whisper among the relative noise.
Silence returns.
So, into myself I go.

I am an ancient relic.
Stillness gives rise to voice.
I listen to the sound of the call.
The call emanating within.

What is it that I have to offer?
Wisdom, nature, unadorned truth.
My footsteps are soft
In a corner of the world.
Under the radar.
A secret dance. I dance alone.

I am an ancient relic.
A larger presence beckons.
A heart’s call to return, back to nature’s embrace,
I hear the sound, behold the sight, breathe new life
Invigorated, I stand.

I am an ancient relic.
Now, they too heed the call, drawing near,
Returning to belonging, truth, knowledge, wisdom, love, connection.
We dance the ancient dance. Together in unity.
Thus, I start to see, that ancient relic in everybody.

Nothing makes me feel more like a primitive relic, that washed up in this millennia, than a Green Velvet show. My body could not not dance lol. Sooo good…so grateful he made it out to Seattle! Comment if you’ve been to a show and know what I am talking about! 🙂
