I fell in love with Yaeji after being introduced to “raingurl” by some wonderful friends of mine. The music video to “raingurl” is full of vibrant colors and awesome semi-nerdy yet badass dance moves, it definitely makes me want to go to that party!

“raingurl” is Yaeji’s most commercial song, but there are more great ones off her 2017 Yaeji and EP2 albums. I love getting down to “feel it out”, “guap”, and “after that” and chillin to songs like “passionfruit” and “one more”.  Her music almost makes you float in the clouds, with her simple but rich house beats (that you can always dance to) in combination with her softer sensual voice which just carries you away.

The really special thing about Yaeji’s music is that her story and personality shine through her music, making it unique and sooo Yaeji! I love that she just looks like a normal, albeit slightly dorky, girl making all these great badass house beats. It is so refreshingly relatable! Also her website is also super cool, and you can play and make an image using things from Yaeji’s house, and there is a cute little puppy! Her website is definitely as playful as her music. I hope to see her live someday. I guess I gotta go to Brooklyn! An NYC trip feels near. I shockingly have never been.
