I left 2016 in an overwhelmed state; on edge, hazy, anxious… like the world was spinning at the speed of light around me. It was not a typical New Year. My attitude towards 2017 was quite apathetic, my shiny exterior obscured my deep languidness.

After New Years I shut down for a few days. Like a turtle in her shell, I retreated. I turned off the music, I slept, I drank lots of tea, and I zoned out in front of the screen for days. It was necessary in order for me to regain my vitality, especially after taking the torturous, four-hour long, Graduate Records Examination just prior to the start of the new revolution.

Now I am ready to come out of my shell…I am ready to begin to get a handle on the chaos.

breathe-focus

One baby step at a time…first I need music that will help me focus and not detract too much from my natural thought process. I need familiar music that retains a mostly neutral yet slightly upbeat, positive, disposition. I need simple beats, I need simple rhythm. So, I turn to my playlist that to says to me, “breathe, focus, and do work.”

This playlist has served me very well over the years and I wanted to share it with you.

Think modern, down-tempo, jazzy, coffee shop.

Hopefully you have Spotify, here it is…

Breathe, Focus Playlist

I hope you enjoy it…peace and love. – A
