Ann Arbor saw a stellar performance Sunday night at the Ark. The crowd went wild over the masterful hands of Billy Strings and his band mates. The show struck hard and fast….the audience was at the edge of their seats from beginning to end. At this intimate, seated venue, it was hard to sit still. As the awesome energy on stage reverberated through the crowd, it became difficult for the audience to contain themselves. Many were standing and dancing at the back.
The force that Strings brings to the stage is hard to ignore….the kid has got personality. It is awesome to experience his energy in the crowd. His skill with the guitar is mind-blowing, and at the age of 23, he is likely to be the next Doc Watson, expect maybe with a little more heavy dirty rockin’ bluegrass oomph.
With undeniable inspiration from traditional American music, his show leaves you wondering if the soul of Doc Watson didn’t just float right into Strings four years ago. Strings paid tribute to Doc and Merle on stage.
Billy Strings live is a must see! The raw talent will leave your jaw hanging… your eyes wide and dry from not blinking cause you didn’t want to miss a second….and at then end of the show, you will be on the ground, floored… left in shock, contemplating if you are awake or dreaming because something that good couldn’t be real…and after your revived you will jump back up so happy to be alive and feel lucky that you got to be a part of it.
His tour posters are badass, grab one if you can! It was either a poster or beer for me and I chose beer (hey…it was the cheaper option, and I am broke mama). But I did get this footage so I will always be able to remember such an awesome few hours to be alive. – A
