Sometimes when you are in Ann Arbor, Michigan you can come across a ancient mythological creature, as old as the instrument he carries… a werewolf armed with a violin.

Known as the Violin Monster, this werewolf, unlike others, made his peace with the moon by playing the fiddle and spreading smiles and laughter wherever he went.

Famous around these parts, the Violin Monster, even has a local seasonal beer dedicated to him…a dark, but warming autumn ale that I have to say, is pretty damn good. Awooooo!

I had the chance to stop by his going away party… as he is headed down south for the winter and to my fortune he came over to play some tunes for my friend and I.

We thoroughly enjoyed the fantasy music that he serenaded us with and it was definitely the highlight of my day. If your lucky, I believe you will be able to catch this shapeshifter on the street corners of downtown Ann Arbor next summer.
